As a brand new Award (replacing the Registered Managers Award) the Leadership and Management for Care Services Award is intended to be relevant for managers at different levels of seniority working in the wide variety of services which are developing as part of the Changing Lives Agenda.
The new Award has very extensive knowledge requirements which is causing some anxiety and confusion for candidates and assessors alike. This brand new Reference Guide provides the reader with the knowledge base required to meet the standards of the Award. The book takes a holistic approach - mirroring the design of the Award.
Specifically contextualised for managers of Scottish Services this publication refers to relevant Scottish Legislation, Inquiries, research etc.
There are six sections to the Guide:

This section covers the holistic concepts which reoccur throughout the Award - for example, theory, legislation, advocacy and representation, ethical dilemmas and conflict resolution.
