This book is for staff work with adults and are working towards their SVQ or NVQ Level 3.
The knowledge specification for each of the core units is discussed providing the candidate with the information they need to evidence the unit. The importance of upholding social care values such as respect, individuality, empowerment and diversity is emphasised.
Using realistic and applied examples the reader can see how their own work can be used to evidence their own competence.
The knowledge and skills required as a worker at this level are fully discussed including an insightful chapter on professional development.
The skills that each worker should employ are described enabling the reader to put into context the reasons why they are asked to work in certain ways.
