This book supports candidate working towards their SVQ or NVQ
Level 2 to consider the skills and knowledge they need to apply best practice.
The knowledge specification for each of the core units is discussed providing
the candidate with the information they need to evidence the unit. The importance of upholding
social care values such as respect, individuality, empowerment and diversity is emphasised.
Practice examples and exercises assist the reader to recognise how to apply
their knowledge.
A chapter on portfolio building assists the reader to grasp how this book will
assist them in their SVQ or NVQ.
The skills that each worker should employ are described enabling
the reader to put into context the reasons why they are asked to work in certain
ways.
